The import from a complex database from Microsoft Money 2003 was rather painfull because I did not import all the closed accounts… So I needed to make quite a few adjustments to reconcile. It would have been nice to import based on a time period (may be it’s possible, but I did not find out how - and I was not about to read the manual ;) ) I would also like to track down a sum reported in the reports to the list of transactions that counted towards that sum. But I am a 80% kind of guy; this is good enough!

A complete waste … only investments are stocks … no bonds, investments certificates, mutual funds, etc … I was using an old version of Microsoft Money for all types of investments. Very limited transaction even for stocks … only buy, sell & dividends. The undo function is very limited … needs to be better since its is so easy to make changes and deletes.

The look and interface are OK in my opinion. I purchased on their Black Friday offer, so only paid $20 which is reasonable. I exported a QIF file from my previous financial application and the import into Money worked perfectly. Their email support is reasonable now. We have worked through a couple issues. They do have a fairly decent manual, but very little help on their website. Their meagre FAQ is out of date when it comes to the iPad app. But I did manage to solve an iPad app issue while waiting for response from support. No forum either, to assist in finding help on your own. Backups are manual…it must be so simple for them to do auto backups. That is what I am used to in other apps. If you have 2 Macs, synching of their calendars option and of scheduled transactions is a MESS! In general, their synch method is convoluted and complicated. In addition to your documents being stored in Dropbox, you also must have a local file on each Mac. As I have accumulated more experience. I have downgraded my rating to 2 stars.

I’ve spent 45 minutes trying to figure out this program. There’s no manual and I’ve been to the developers website and it’s not helpful either. I cannot figure out how to import info from my bank. Good thing I only spent $2 on this program. Maybe one day it’ll be useful.

I’ve been using this app for the last year to manage my finances, and it works great. I would consider myself just a basic user just using Accounts, Reports and Importing CSVs. Syncing through Dropbox works as expected; between my Macs, phone and tablet. The sync was the feature I wanted the most and haven’t had any issues with it.

先に無料版でiPad,iPod touch 4thで三ヶ月ほど使っており、つい先日安くなったのを機にMac版のupgrade直前のものを購入しました。 家計簿として使用しておりましたが使いやすく重宝しておりました。 そのときはMac版Moneyにdeviceタブが表示されて無事に同期することが出来ました。 結局一度しか同期せずに4.0の更新になったため更新したところdeviceタブが出なくなりました。 helpでは To use Money on your iPhone (or iPod Touch), you will need to download a copy of Money for iPhone, available on iTunes App Store for free. と明記してあるのですが、app storeでsync with money for iPhone 2と表記されているのが気になります。 2はiPhone用の有料版のはずですのでそちらとしか同期できないようではかなり困ります。 ちなみに日本語表示がなくなって戸惑いましたがupgradeによるデータ移行は問題なく行えました。 まだ難はありますが改善に期待しております。

Each time I upgrade this app, I expect losing data. And it never misses. The move to Dropbox has been the worst. I would like to avoid being that negative, but that has never improved after several years using these apps. Unreliable. I just end up using the tool to have an idea of where finances are—no more. There are many apps that seem to manage the sync issue properly (including through Dropbox). That is surely difficult, but how come the Money apps, with several years of “refinements” cannot get that straight once?

After update all my logs was destroyed (year of balance in a trash). Now the program with each new launch prompts to save new data file. As if I run again and again its the first time. Do something!

Ive checked all apps for personal finances, and Money looks like the best choice for me. Its attractively designed and offers all I need without overloading the UI.

I waited this update but i am very disappointed because reports are very-very bad. Reports on budget are key for me but in this update, rows are duplicated proportionally quantity of budgets. Also some data was not included in reports of budget. I think, that needed to add a case "quartely" for report type "budget" and to display a planned and actual balance on end of period for analyze. P.S. please, add Russian language for Mac and iPhone versions. I may help for this.

After update I could sync my iPhone and Mac only once. Now trying to do this again, no chance - all the time error "Sync 1 Error:[Sync failed: NSObjectInaccessibleException CoreData could not fulfill a fault for…". Tried to restart both apps - nothing. Very disappointed. And guys please add to iPhone app tags for transactions like on Mac. Actually its a beautiful app, but sync is your weakest point. Again… please fix it ASAP!

There is an issue with dates when importing OFX from my bank (AlfaBank). Money sets the month to january. v 4.0 - 4.1.2 worked fine with the same ofx file. Cant use Money since the last updates (4.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2 etc). Fix it, please!!! btw, hello, MoneyWiz )

Cant wait iCloud support anymore! Please add it!

Thanks for the iCloud support, for now I can use Money apps on iPad, iPhone and Mac wihtout manual sync. Also, please add Russian localization to iOS/Mac apps :)

iCloud syncing feature is good. But if you update you will loose all wi-fi sync functionality. And if you run lion on your Mac and iOS6 on your device you wont be able to sync them at all. If you use iOS 5 on your device and ML on your Mac you wont be abble to sync them. If youre running family budget and your family members use Money you wont be able to sync because all your family members must use ONLY ONE apple ID otherwise it wont sync Before this update it was great app for home budgeting and finance. Now its only useful for a family consists of only one person. Dear developers, give us a possibility to choose how we want to sync over iCloud or over wi-fi.

While the app itself is basically nice, it becomes useless once syncing is involved. When i bought this app, iCloud syncing was present and worked fine. but already once of the next releases removed this feature, and syncing is now working only via wifi. So now when I sync between my iPhone and Mac, i get missing transactions, inconsistent account states (opened with 0$, received 250$, current 0$) etc. Especially in a finance app, I would have expected not to loose randon transactions (on iOS they are here, on OSX others are there etc.) and that it would count correct. Really sad, cause basically i liked the app, and the last half year tried to document every penny spent, and every buck erned using the Mac, iOS, and iPad versions together.

I basically do not want to use cloud services! As I can sync!

App is not updated. Some critical issues (with autopayemnts, calendars, etc). Reports can be muuuch better.

Very easy and fast to enter spending info while at the store register! But I am still trying to figure out the reporting and budgeting features. For example, I need to track my moving expenses against a budget, but so far I have not found a way to budget specific categories. It seem like you cannot, but that seems like such a basic thing, that I must be missing something. I use this on my iphone and MAC and will try to integrate this on my husband’s iphone and ipad. I like how the more often you use a category, that it moves up the list from where you choose. I also like the screen and font they use for entering expense, it is like a blackboard, and easy to read. This screen makes it pleasurable to enter my transactions, rather than a business like screen (that would be no fun, ugh, like journaling your food intake…boring). Regular font for everything else, as it should be.
