Money by Jumsoft App Reviews

Lagging behind

I was told by the developers that they would be working on the issues that I was having. They were pretty small things that I figured would be fixed quickly. It has been months and nothing has happened. I would rather have 5 small updates than 1 big update. Every time I want to do something in the app and can’t, because the developers haven’t fixed it or improved it, it gets more frustrating. Now as time progresses even more issues are coming up and I start looking for alternatives, but there aren’t really too many good choices out there. Please, Jumsoft, I don’t want to leave you! You have the potential to lead the finances category!

Good; room for improvement

I enjoy this app very much. It serves it’s purpose, does it well, and syncs across all of my devices. It has an in-app browser and overall just makes sense. I didn’t have the prior versions and so far haven’t had any issues with upgrades/updates. My worry is this: I’d like to see a Yosemite-themed update. The interface needs some improvement and updating. Would love to give this 5 stars the next time around.

Money is awesome!

I found Money by Jumsoft when looking for a finance app that could download my bank statements. Now I have a full budget and a number of reports, and can get quite OCD when monitoring my accounts. It just works! Also love the interface, no more old-school garish colors and clunky fonts.

Still stuck with TERRIBLE DropBox Syncing

Still waiting for iCloud Syncing to come back. Dropbox gives me nothing but problems. Been waiting 2 years. Paid for the iPhone and iPad Apps when I could use iCloud Syncing but then they ditched it and screwed me over. The Dropbox sync is just horrible! It never works. It doesn’t update, it causes duplicate transactions. I hate it. It’s the worst thing ever. I had better luck creating backups if Money in my DropBox Folder and just using those between Macs. HORRIBLE LIKE ALWAYS! iCloud was better than this but you guys killed that! With every update is more problems. I don’t think Jumsoft tests anything they release. Not one release of an update has ever gone smoothly or not caused a problem. Just get it right and leave it alone and stop adding feautures until its right! UPDATE: Still only syncing through DropBox which still does not work well and still unusable because it screws up accounts… Still no update for iOS 8. I can’t remeber the last time there was an update at all for this App.

run away from this app

Kingsford07’s comment about the syncing probelms are right on. I’ve been using version 4.6 for a number of years and this company never makes updates, never makes improvements. I don’t know if the company really exists any more. They will take your money and disappear. Imagine having your finances on more than one device, making changes on one, and not having a button to sync the updates to the cloud where it appears on your other device. Money does this syncing on its own schedule, and I have no idea what that is. You just have to keep Money open and running on the one device, and keep manually commanding the mobile device to sync. Eventually, hopefully the sync occurs. The syncing of scheduled transactions to Calendar also stinks. I gave up using it. This is rudimentary, amateurish programming. Why the hell Intuit doesn’t make a version of home and business for Mac is beyond comprehension.

Great tool to track investment

I trade forex and I find it very useful to track how much I have in each account. There is no need to track each transaction, just when and how much I transfer in and take out. The builtin report is useful in this case.

I dread updates to this app

It seems like every time they update this app, it gets just a little bit (or sometimes a lot bit) worse. It’s the same case for this update, which introduced strange UI bugs in the calendar fields. While not a product breaker, it is ugly and demonstrates that this company just doesn’t seem to care about this app. Thankfully it’s not a show-stopper like previous updates. With the end of the year coming it’s probably time for me to find a new application and move on.

Money is a really great application

I’m a huge fan of Money by Jumsoft. I’ve used it for six or seven years and it does everything I want it to. If there was one option I wish it had, again, it’s synching over the LAN.

Excellent program for my purposes

I have gone through several versions of Money over more thant five years. I used other programs in the past including Quickbooks and MacMoney. The Jumsoft program has just what I need for my individual use. It works well and the customer service people have been very helpful in my efforts to adjust to various versions of the Macintosh operating systems on my iMac and my iPhone. Thank you very much.

The worst financial software I have ever used.

I have had this for a couple of years and find it the most awkward to use of all the programs I have use (both in our business and at home.) There online instructions are confusing especially when it com to getting reports done. You can’t get answers from their support in a timely fashion and then only in eMail. Could never get checks to line up. BUT It does interface with my bank well.
